Giving too much?

Is there such a thing as "giving too much"
Like for example let's talk about trust
Giving too much trust is it wrong or right,
Will they tell your secrets or keep them locked up tight?
Charity, we do it for good reasons
Like feeding the needy during every season
Then they tend to depend and not try
What if you can't give no more, and they starve or die
How about this thing called love
I believe the symbol is a pure white dove
So what if you give too much love to the one you dream of
Would he cherish you or would he see it as just lust?
